A Grateful Dead show was originally scheduled for that date, but the Dead's keyboard player, Brent Mydland, had recently died. Rather than cancel the gig, the Jerry Garcia Band stepped in to deliver one of their most heartfelt performances.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqDqLfs9V8kvpsFJ0EO10YhzbnwlXDdioHeahZ7IG3rDlrbT8bFMMy298TNRs64gRWtLdJe5_ttF5tYSE_wp_1CeoI2tVnSFngoBClHEpc08h0jtMKj_8tVLyBi77Q13t0BHbbolPzf6A/s1600-h/jerry1.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqDqLfs9V8kvpsFJ0EO10YhzbnwlXDdioHeahZ7IG3rDlrbT8bFMMy298TNRs64gRWtLdJe5_ttF5tYSE_wp_1CeoI2tVnSFngoBClHEpc08h0jtMKj_8tVLyBi77Q13t0BHbbolPzf6A/s400/jerry1.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5140976528787618770" border="0" /></a><br />HOW SWEET IT IS TO BE LOVED BY YOU<br />STOP THAT TRAIN<br />DEAR PRUDENCE<br />I SHALL BE RELEASED<br />RUN FOR THE ROSES<br />MY SISTERS AND BROTHERS<br />DEAL<br />I SECOND THAT EMOTION<br />THINK<br />AND IT STONED ME<br />WAITING FOR A MIRACLE<br />DON'T LET GO<br />THAT LUCKY OLD SUN (JUST ROLLS AROUND HEAVEN ALL DAY)<br />TANGLED UP IN BLUE<br /><br /><br /><br /><a href="http://www.sendspace.com/file/qd0qqf"><span style="font-size:130%;"><span style="font-family:verdana;">Download</span></span></a>Cheesekidhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16668695455762598534noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8668575768867620893.post-11123774382853958512007-12-06T12:02:00.000-06:002007-12-06T12:09:39.208-06:00Nimbin Mardi GrassI know this blog is suppose to be about music but I cant help it. Montgomery (b. 1925 - d. 1968) eschewed the customary pick in favor of his remarkable right thumb, with which he played the signature octaves that gave his blues an earthtonal quality. It was a vastly appealing sound that, through a series of commercially-geared recordings (plus some flat-out club date smoking with Wynton Kelly's trio or jamming with the perenially poll-winning organist Jimmy Smith) won Montgomery a larger following.<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwQ9St9hMDgcVEqurPrHD1xJYfZuCapmejXRDn3_OJT5qvVLpAlfNZbVRI8qtQuoy1aWe31rXiGsqYaBgj0uE3vQSKlJJfObJCapaCOZIykrktycwLNS0TPGWdEr-pmYMjNiv2CFrddtM/s1600-r/200676989.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg53xRNdHb6KK57jE-ryoGyMITr0TUdMcSA15dwdX03giadln4KrdBUu6uHSphyV170_gaaK1B8zDT8R_z4sKh2POXUBSmIwuuWCvpecK2-DiZI7YUHVPHkJ4H_uX_Y6QqDEX1YXtaxQ4c/s400/200676989.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5139116578446753282" border="0" /></a><br /> 1. This is the exciting corner of jazz during the mid-late-60s, by some big names if not necessarily the BIG names that even non-jazz fans know. All of these tracks are great selections for this compilation, but Ronnie Foster's "Mystic Brew" stood out most to me. Maybe that's because I hadn't heard it before AND it is a great performance. The Andrew Hill tune, "Illusion", is also a standout. I could list every track as a standout, and Madlib did a good job on the sequencing because every song flows after the next in a sensible manner.<br /><br />If you are new to jazz, this is a great listen for you to get a sampling of great music from different artists. If you are a sometimes listener, this will probably convince you to buy more albums by the artists included. If you're a long time fan, you may still want this for the couple of songs you don't have, or to have the collection on one disc. It's that good.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2SQFykVj90l4aLrp-hP-93H9X7e9Si7WBm4bh5EBOURu7KlMrw1HDtKXb6vwfvEd2ztVz4MIV0c6jbvm0wkg3rdh868YWfDQ_iOOKlmA0yN8wIGW9XR-Q5nTFYHuLigsjJQgUVDPR1VQ/s1600-r/untinted-400.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVoGSYUjvmg6PORxpj4BDZCE0rpTROEJxutMAUXll0OJ09e-ej1YibuIC0Ok-4uqEM0_aQ8jdQn0jzRUtKRk99tNGIgHLmtPKFDhLMc_mg4rNeAByYXLEtvBCRQjd7uTVnOo0Rif4XeLk/s400/untinted-400.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5139112670026513906" border="0" /></a> <br /><br />1. No huge, bloated, over-conceptualised rottage for the monkey man. He gets in, does what he has to do, gets out.<br /><br />From the opener, "Noctuary," with it’s creepy stoned-Hammer feel, through the headnod sitar-funk of "Flutter," on into the Rhodes-meets-Gamelan of "D Song," the first third of the record sets out the tone for what is to follow – all beautfiully melodic and perfectly assembled but with enough of a creeping undertow to stop the music becoming empty or saccharine. "Change Down" is all double bass folk and cut-up drums, "Wayward Bob" is a devilish waltz, while single "Pick Up" is a straight funk ‘n’ flute throw down. "Something For Windy"sounds like a dub of a postman on his rounds, "Nothing Owed" is epic pastoralia, while "Light Pattern" rounds things off with what sounds like the theme to the best TV programme never made.<br /><br />With all instruments played, sampled and sequenced by Green’s own fair hand, there is a consistency here, both within the tunes and across the record that crate diggers can only dream of. There is real development, the building of moods and feelings, a genuine attempt to make great music which is incidentally computer music. Why you might ask, well its the quadruple powerhouse of Lagos Communique>Sea Groove>Cookin'(version)>Cramp Your Style. It simply doesn't get better than that. Mixing fluidly between afro-beat, reggae, rock, Brazilian, soul, easy listening, electronic and rare library music, Thievery Corporation create a set that takes the listener on a trip of truly global proportions. The Outernational Sound is a seamless recording from many nights of sonic exploration with the turntables and a crate of records. From warehouse parties in Caracas to elegant soires in Honolulu, and root downs in Kingston, Garza and Hilton have played a lot of rare wax for a broad spectrum of listeners. Now, in a one-hour mix CD, the sound system has been mashed up and the whole world can share in Thievery Corporation's Outernational Sound.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8eDbjvT4bKmQEuElGsa-0WxAlre-PjUwGgdBreP8eQQZjhzNR_FdTVPVuIdDXeFRqpoanWM5UE9QmRjQ5NRhn_Ezq3nmjreOgF_f-wU_l7firjykUm_3jKU0fekKF3q-7Lq1R65wPVjk/s1600-h/Thievery_Outernational_L.jpeg"><span style="font-weight: bold;"></span><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8eDbjvT4bKmQEuElGsa-0WxAlre-PjUwGgdBreP8eQQZjhzNR_FdTVPVuIdDXeFRqpoanWM5UE9QmRjQ5NRhn_Ezq3nmjreOgF_f-wU_l7firjykUm_3jKU0fekKF3q-7Lq1R65wPVjk/s320/Thievery_Outernational_L.jpeg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5138137144106581266" border="0" /></a><table border="0" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr><td><a href="http://mfile3.akamai.com/14123/wm2/muze.download.akamai.com/2890/us/uswm2/_%21/752/523752_1_01.asx?auth=daEajaobCaobAbkaGbMaFd0apakc_aZakau-bhtLyn-Ci-jdeck&aifp=1234&obj=v41105" rel="nofollow"><br /></a></td><td><a href="http://mfile3.akamai.com/14122/rm/muze.download.akamai.com/2890/us/usrm/_%21/752/523752_1_01.ram?auth=daEdvbPbfcOcHd.ajcfaoc1cpcGbBd_cKbU-bhtLyn-Ci-bebcg&aifp=1234&obj=v40726" rel="nofollow"><br /></a></td><td><b>1</b>.</td><td>International Flight - A far cry from the "money, cash, ho's" aesthetic that continues to dominate the scene, Mos Def and Talib Kwieli bring substance and emotions to their lyrics that define "keepin' it real." <p>While the album does have a sense of humor ("Children's Story"),it never strays too far from its message of self-awareness and perseverance. The standout tracks are "Redefinition," "K.O.S.," "Brown Skin Lady," and the off-the-chain collaboration with Common, "Respiration." Black Star confirms that there is indeed hope for hip-hop.</p><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLN8VI_CNSFN2MkSFGU2hXjprC-V1A1C1TliAM_McXlZGOBsPctthBl2r2A_AK8sB3anwLyZC5_adYSzP1A2IYqK-nvQToOOPQQJSlQq8QQMywQn6E1NCOd-sCEJcvc25APeUCeI6xwR0/s1600-h/1blackstar.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLN8VI_CNSFN2MkSFGU2hXjprC-V1A1C1TliAM_McXlZGOBsPctthBl2r2A_AK8sB3anwLyZC5_adYSzP1A2IYqK-nvQToOOPQQJSlQq8QQMywQn6E1NCOd-sCEJcvc25APeUCeI6xwR0/s320/1blackstar.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5138133690952875234" border="0" /></a><br /><table border="0" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tbody><tr class="listRowEven"><td>1. This is what happens when you let Madlib loose in the Trojan Reggee Vaults and I am sure he was doing plenty of puffing on that day.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKlYUeDYZ0GJt-WLHxYvvCh2ohK-6ObSO_StWnBgSVwj250vL08JXQ-jtB9CEIBAAf94_mEfez-2wBRE67v9QlR1bbUWeECG2xXeg2MuD_J44vgQSd1Vo4n88YDHaawuzo8Q9BJ_2eRzg/s1600-h/mus1.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKlYUeDYZ0GJt-WLHxYvvCh2ohK-6ObSO_StWnBgSVwj250vL08JXQ-jtB9CEIBAAf94_mEfez-2wBRE67v9QlR1bbUWeECG2xXeg2MuD_J44vgQSd1Vo4n88YDHaawuzo8Q9BJ_2eRzg/s320/mus1.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5137401278769822930" border="0" /></a><a href="http://www.sendspace.com/file/vhjguf"><span style="font-weight: bold;font-family:verdana;font-size:130%;" >Download</span></a>Cheesekidhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16668695455762598534noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8668575768867620893.post-19691265510441728222007-11-27T00:07:00.000-06:002007-11-27T00:31:40.650-06:00St. Germain - Boulevard<span style="font-family: lucida grande;font-size:130%;" >Chill House.</span> Thats all I can really think about when I hear the name St.Germain. This time around, the Beat Konducta expands his own universe of aliases and jazz-player personas to include the Young Jazz Rebels, the Jazzistics, and Suntouch, among many others. The key to YESTERDAY'S UNIVERSE is spotting the tastes and styles of each alter ego. For example, Jackson Conti has a penchant for Brazilian flavors, the Yesterday's Universe All-Stars go for all-out fusion jam sessions, while Suntouch delivers spaced-out journeys a la Sun Ra. Somewhere amid the schizophrenia, Lib covers Miles Davis's "Bitches Brew" and Donald Smith's "Slave Riot" and collaborates with drummers Karriem Riggins and Mamao of the famed Brazilian group, Azymuth.<br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgx_oAKe6BhxyIJ9Vu59R-UTWvamOBlKVj0lHAn-_MEqWjJuuzHfEZJTWxCLauYQhaFa2a-QJ8igr2fpSDnzVkhyphenhyphentRhxhF71AJD_u-E34p8K7qPKXRBkGowslPP1XbWFG2gMxXm37ZM9WI/s1600-h/products_image.l-STH2158.jpeg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgx_oAKe6BhxyIJ9Vu59R-UTWvamOBlKVj0lHAn-_MEqWjJuuzHfEZJTWxCLauYQhaFa2a-QJ8igr2fpSDnzVkhyphenhyphentRhxhF71AJD_u-E34p8K7qPKXRBkGowslPP1XbWFG2gMxXm37ZM9WI/s320/products_image.l-STH2158.jpeg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5136843645985914034" border="0" /></a><br />01. After watching some Brasil in Time the other day I learned about this album and boy are you in for a treat. This album is Madlib in the style of 70's jazz fusion artist Azymuth. This is about as laid back as it gets. Tasty grooves in the Stones Throw tradition. The set's got all the best feel of recent Stones Throw instrumental work, kind of a stripped-down take on 70s funky jazz styles. <span class="searchTerm">Joe</span> <span class="searchTerm">McDuphrey</span> plays some monster keys on the set jamming in a mellow way over laid back bass, drums, and sample loops. Produced by Madlib, the whole thing's very much in the feel of work by Yesterday's New Quintet.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBzIYmZ-Ic4W2lcX4GUNZ79HsF34ZC3VBkQp7H61YAE8KrGY5woTaA9nH3UUndpEWPZv2NotMlpXNL_fQDhTXoln3gKayR-FzJYIYPI5g_vVq_k6p7CQccCumGhpALaZrcdb_QP_O2EDI/s1600-h/JOE.exp.ep.400.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBzIYmZ-Ic4W2lcX4GUNZ79HsF34ZC3VBkQp7H61YAE8KrGY5woTaA9nH3UUndpEWPZv2NotMlpXNL_fQDhTXoln3gKayR-FzJYIYPI5g_vVq_k6p7CQccCumGhpALaZrcdb_QP_O2EDI/s400/JOE.exp.ep.400.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5135792409485282642" border="0" /></a><br />1. Although the band's sense of freewheeling experimentation had been tempered, its gradual transition to a straight-ahead funk band was made perfect with two of the biggest hits of its career: "Hang Loose" and "Fencewalk." "Hang Loose" is all over the place (in a good way), moving from a grooving funk jam to mid-tempo guitar skronk and back, all part of an impassioned call to peace. "Fencewalk" also had several transitions, with a crooning chorus and an extended middle section powered by heavy brass and a screaming guitar solo. Elsewhere, <a href="http://www.artistdirect.com/nad/music/artist/card/0,,462723,00.html" class="dlink">Mandrill</a> turns in a very convincing impression of a salsa band ("Hágalo"), breaks into killer loose-groove funk ("Don't Mess With People," with a splendidly undecipherable vocal), and stumbles only with the long, rasta-fied San Francisco tribute "Polk Street Carnival," featuring a bass part that would make even a student smirk.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPE1n7mp5p4bvaWnyk0XzwT0_s0brrvk8GYw0eenpL0LlbWeR5lsiqdUXHdF-QpWr2zPU4-p6GzSrKcmkiOv02D6pGys7a3T9sEeQ9A6orW3W0ALwCUmmP4jRLdOy-tHoyqIyxjMDWQYI/s1600-h/418M1T5T6XL._SS500_.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPE1n7mp5p4bvaWnyk0XzwT0_s0brrvk8GYw0eenpL0LlbWeR5lsiqdUXHdF-QpWr2zPU4-p6GzSrKcmkiOv02D6pGys7a3T9sEeQ9A6orW3W0ALwCUmmP4jRLdOy-tHoyqIyxjMDWQYI/s400/418M1T5T6XL._SS500_.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5135579636805438770" border="0" /></a>1 <a href="http://www.artistdirect.com/cgi-bin/gx.cgi/AppLogic+Search?select=Songs&searchtype=NormalSearch&start=1&searchstr=Hang+Loose">Hang Loose</a><br />2 <a href="http://www.artistdirect.com/cgi-bin/gx.cgi/AppLogic+Search?select=Songs&searchtype=NormalSearch&start=1&searchstr=Fencewalk">Fencewalk</a><br />3 <a href="http://www.artistdirect.com/cgi-bin/gx.cgi/AppLogic+Search?select=Songs&searchtype=NormalSearch&start=1&searchstr=Hagalo">Hagalo</a><br />4 <a href="http://www.artistdirect.com/cgi-bin/gx.cgi/AppLogic+Search?select=Songs&searchtype=NormalSearch&start=1&searchstr=Don%27t+Mess+With+People">Don't Mess With People</a><br />5 <a href="http://www.artistdirect.com/cgi-bin/gx.cgi/AppLogic+Search?select=Songs&searchtype=NormalSearch&start=1&searchstr=Polk+Street+Carnival">Polk Street Carnival</a><br />6 <a href="http://www.artistdirect.com/cgi-bin/gx.cgi/AppLogic+Search?select=Songs&searchtype=NormalSearch&start=1&searchstr=Golden+Stone">Golden Stone</a><br />7 <a href="http://www.artistdirect.com/cgi-bin/gx.cgi/AppLogic+Search?select=Songs&searchtype=NormalSearch&start=1&searchstr=Out+With+the+Boys">Out With the Boys</a><br />8 <a href="http://www.artistdirect.com/cgi-bin/gx.cgi/AppLogic+Search?select=Songs&searchtype=NormalSearch&start=1&searchstr=Moroccan+Nights">Moroccan Nights</a><br /><br /><br /><a href="http://www.sendspace.com/file/gtmrlp"><span style="font-size:130%;"><span style="font-weight: bold;"><span style="font-family: trebuchet ms;">Download</span></span></span></a>Cheesekidhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16668695455762598534noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8668575768867620893.post-69619420805493797922007-11-19T15:55:00.000-06:002007-11-19T16:41:36.730-06:00DJ Shadow & Cut Chemist - Brain Freeze / Product PlacementBrainfreeze was recorded by DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist as a practice session for a show in February 1999 at the Future Primitive Soundsession (San Francisco) mixing funk and soul 45's. Initially 1000 copies were made and sold at the shows, and a further 1000 copies were made and distributed to local records stores in California and sold out very quickly. A cease-and-desist letter from 7-11 Convenience stores—the whole artwork and styling was based on their logos and uniforms—meant that they stopped and moved on. The album was then bootlegged and it can now be found in popular record shops.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSvRhnqP2XafyBY7KZ0Uojj6PvERHSWwxPkevyiovKhcKMHViBf42YfEE8MKOUUQt8DgSY91DPQwz73iChZbCi94UQSpugMB0Xz4_FeB1TpQLNECVVcHNZih18awrzTVkxCJ78LIIgtbo/s1600-h/shadowcutslurpee.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSvRhnqP2XafyBY7KZ0Uojj6PvERHSWwxPkevyiovKhcKMHViBf42YfEE8MKOUUQt8DgSY91DPQwz73iChZbCi94UQSpugMB0Xz4_FeB1TpQLNECVVcHNZih18awrzTVkxCJ78LIIgtbo/s320/shadowcutslurpee.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5134677942781381874" border="0" /></a>Side 1<br /><ul><li>Lamont Johson Quartet - "Thunder Fist"<br /></li><li>The Jules Shattner Group - 2001 - "A Soul Odyssey"</li><li>Fried Chicken - "Funky DJ"</li><li><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mohawks" title="The Mohawks">The Mohawks</a> - "The Champ"</li><li><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Reuben_Bell&action=edit" class="new" title="Reuben Bell">Reuben Bell</a> - "Superjock"</li><li><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert_King" title="Albert King">Albert King</a> - "Cold Feet"</li><li>Ultimate Force - "I'm Not Playing"</li><li><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eddie_Bo" title="Eddie Bo">Eddie Bo</a> and Inez Cheatham - "Lover And A Friend"</li><li>Mack Rice - "Three People In Love"</li><li>The Nu People - "I'd Be Nowhere Today"</li><li>Nu-Sound Express Ltd - "Ain't It Good Enough"</li><li>Mystic Moods - "Cosmic Sea"</li><li>American Gypsy - "Inside Out"</li><li>Odetta - Hit Or Miss</li><li>The Mar-Keys - "Grab This Thing"</li><li>Rusty Bryant - "FireEater"</li><li>Simtec and Wylie - "Bootleggin'" (Part 2)</li><li><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilbur_%22Bad%22_Bascomb" title="Wilbur "Bad" Bascomb">Wilbur Bascomb</a> and The Zodiac - "Just A Groove In 'G'"</li><li><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eddie_Bo" title="Eddie Bo">Eddie Bo</a> and The Soul Finders - "We're Doin' It (Thang)"</li><li>Rufus Thomas - Sophisticated Sissy</li><li>The Showmen Inc. - "The Tramp (From Funky Broadway)"<br /></li><li>The Original Soul Senders - "Soul Brother Testify "</li><li><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rufus_Thomas" title="Rufus Thomas">Rufus Thomas</a> - "Itch and Scratch"</li><li>Alvin Cash - "Keep On Dancing (Instrumental")</li><li>Lou Courtney - "Hey Joyce"</li><li>Bummer radio spot</li></ul>Side 2<br /><ul><li>The Singing Principal - "Women's Lib"</li><li>Salt - "Hung Up"</li><li>The Soul Lifters - "Hot, Funky, and Sweaty"</li><li>Frankie Seay and The Soul Riders - "Soul Food"</li><li>The Interpretations - "Jason Pew Mosso"<br /></li><li>Thunder and Lightning - "Bumpin' Bus Stop"</li><li>Billy Garner - "I Got Some"</li><li>Pleasure Web - "Music Man"</li><li>Gary Byrd - "Soul Travelin' (The G.B.E.)"<br /></li><li>Clifton Chenier and Grandpa Gee Gee - "Just Keep On Scratching"</li><li>"W" radio spot</li><li><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marlena_Shaw" title="Marlena Shaw">Marlena Shaw</a> - "California Soul"</li><li>The Vibrettes- "Humpty Dump"</li><li><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eddie_Bo" title="Eddie Bo">Eddie Bo</a> - "From This Day On"</li><li>7-Eleven - "Dance The Slurp"</li><li><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kraftwerk" title="Kraftwerk">Kraftwerk</a> - "Numbers"</li><li>Flash and The Five - "Flash It To The Beat"</li><li>Pearly Queen - "Quit Jivin'"</li><li>Tony Alvon and The Belairs - Sexy Coffee Pot</li><li><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chuck_Mangione" title="Chuck Mangione">Chuck Mangione</a> - "Hill Where The Lord Hides"</li><li>Funka Fize - "No Words"</li><li><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schooly_D" title="Schooly D">Schooly D</a> - "Gucci Time"</li><li><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jurassic_5" title="Jurassic 5">Jurassic 5</a> - "Unified Rebelution"<br /></li><li>Third Guitar - "Baby Don't Cry"</li><li>Don Pierce - "This Funky Thing"</li><li>Funka Fize - "Because You're Funky"</li><li>The Troubleneck Brothers - "Back To The Hip Hop"</li><li>Stu Gardner - "Devil In A Man"</li><li>Samson and Delilah - "There's A DJ In Your Town"</li><li><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giorgio_Moroder" title="Giorgio Moroder">Giorgio Moroder</a> - "Tears"</li><li>Tim and Bill - "Someone"</li></ul><br /><br />Product Placement is the follow up to Brain Freeze and in my opinion is equally good. I'm a huge jazz fan, so I was glad do discover such cuts as 'Journey Inwards', 'Sunrain' and 'Inner Guidance. LTJ Bukem is undoubtedly one of the founding fathers of Drum & Bass, and it shows on his new album, "Journey Inwards". He digresses from the style we are all accustomed to, his flowing intelligent jungle sets, choosing to make a more melodic and soulful album. Every track on "Journey Inwards" has a message of sorts, and his producing abilities are evident with every track. Beats are layered on top of one another and the occasional break in the beat reminds you to come back from the jazzy world he creates. Be warned...this album is VERY chill. If you want hard, intelligent jungle, then get a progression sessions CD, because this is some true ambience.</span><br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjc_3v4jLlPafsjazizxRLiR5CdzSTkc9L7_ormOzhVzlFT0Cb4rMmVh3FDZkvbwjW1Lhd_BrfIh0JxereNSTl0XXVibTaqr7YjFZxQ-y3zAfeN4soe9bXWThMbkAG0UuhglvXl8CT5jT8/s1600-h/41979.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjc_3v4jLlPafsjazizxRLiR5CdzSTkc9L7_ormOzhVzlFT0Cb4rMmVh3FDZkvbwjW1Lhd_BrfIh0JxereNSTl0XXVibTaqr7YjFZxQ-y3zAfeN4soe9bXWThMbkAG0UuhglvXl8CT5jT8/s320/41979.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5134368464617901266" border="0" /></a><br />Disc 1<br /> 1. Lightning struck twice when it was released two years later in the States--the domestic debut attracted the attention of electronic music hipsters, tango freaks, and world music geeks. And rightfully so. The Gotan trio of Philippe Cohen Solal, Christoph H. Müller, and Eduardo Makaroff write the album's strongest material themselves, but their imaginative incorporation of Frank Zappa's "Chunga's Revenge," Gato Barbieri's theme from the movie <i>Last Tango In Paris</i> and, not surprisingly, Astor Piazzolla's "Vuelvo Al Sur" into the Gotan world shows just how broad and inclusive their tastes really are.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXwre_Y4Xeya_owgFs_9kLXsQLB4AmMd75-IF3GQ1Jwg2rL3X-DKHLSihyIKLLgu93U9rc7C5BGUBvwmj8qlJXinOhJgomBAJxgOE1KaAk6o6WeFZZC9bePXXhH3niuPFmPMav8mvPTdw/s1600-h/yab013carton.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXwre_Y4Xeya_owgFs_9kLXsQLB4AmMd75-IF3GQ1Jwg2rL3X-DKHLSihyIKLLgu93U9rc7C5BGUBvwmj8qlJXinOhJgomBAJxgOE1KaAk6o6WeFZZC9bePXXhH3niuPFmPMav8mvPTdw/s320/yab013carton.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5134075204250930370" border="0" /></a><br />01 Queremos Paz<br />02 Época<br />03 Chunga's revenge<br />04 Tríptico<br />05 Santa María (del Buen Ayre)<br />06 Una música brutal<br />07 El capitalismo foráneo<br />08 Last tango in Paris<br />09 La del ruso<br />10 Vuelvo al sur<br /><br /><br /><a href="http://www.sendspace.com/file/xj3myt"><span style="font-size:180%;">Download</span></a>Cheesekidhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16668695455762598534noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8668575768867620893.post-21052096155784790262007-11-17T02:33:00.000-06:002007-11-17T02:46:13.712-06:00Ott - BlumenkraftThis album is very hard to describe but i will give it a try. For fans of Shpongle and other psy-trace artist's, Ott bombards your face with a huge sonic spiral of sound. From Dub to Middle Eastern influence and beyond. Ott doesn't leave much to the imagination. This is some full frontal electronic music. I was amazed at how much i liked this upon first listen and it keeps on getting better with time. This album is not for the faint of heart and comes highly recommended.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhu6574ytBBGRKD32epQ7DJ8dMWvIfgOTZSescEt4nnhJyRx9TeFSZ5N0tM7UEWefEwjwBrfvquMoN_KCC2A99p2_oCVhBbDHAkz-dVwT-G15Fiqj8IEfT61mvFQ_EUTQINoSc2ekkTTrM/s1600-h/Ott+-+Blumenkraft.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhu6574ytBBGRKD32epQ7DJ8dMWvIfgOTZSescEt4nnhJyRx9TeFSZ5N0tM7UEWefEwjwBrfvquMoN_KCC2A99p2_oCVhBbDHAkz-dVwT-G15Fiqj8IEfT61mvFQ_EUTQINoSc2ekkTTrM/s320/Ott+-+Blumenkraft.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5133724958257876130" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><ol><li>Jack's Cheese and Bread Snack </li><li>Somersettler </li><li>Splitting the Atom <span class="pick"> [pick]</span><br /> </li><li>Escape from Tulse Hill </li><li>Cley Hill<span class="pick"> [pick]</span><br /> </li><li>Billy the Kid Strikes Back </li><li>A Load Up at Nunney Catch </li><li>Spannered in Pilton </li><li>Smoked Glass and Chrome<span class="pick"> [pick]</span><br /></li></ol><br /><span style="font-size:180%;"> <a href="http://www.sendspace.com/file/7wcnvy"><span style="font-weight: bold;font-family:times new roman;" >Download</span></a></span>Cheesekidhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16668695455762598534noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8668575768867620893.post-70392528802081051632007-11-16T14:20:00.000-06:002007-11-16T15:30:31.044-06:00Bonobo - Days To ComeNinja Tune rarely disappoints and this album is no exception. I would classify Days To Come as breaks having sex with some jazzy lounge. If that doesn't make sense you might be too far gone. The incredible vocals of Bajka only put this album over the top.<br /><br />Simon Green aka Bonobo returns with his third album and the kind of quantum leap in quality that very few artists make. “Days To Come” has the feeling of a classic all over – a big, brooding, emotional and uplifting record that you can dance to, do the dishes to, or sit and really study.<br /><br />Green has always been expert at welding together music dripping with atmosphere, combining his own musical and technical talents in such a way as to make utterly organic-sounding machine music. This is not just a knob-twiddling producer but a multi-instrumentalist at work, who writes, plays and then manipulates almost every note of music he releases. And “Days To Come” shows a new structural awareness growing from this, a feeling for the song form and the gradual build which raises it way above the work of many of his contemporaries and cries out for him to achieve the kind of mainstream success that has talent has long hinted at.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQGeG9tbjcrpmUH8KzfZ42io8-vFPrB4qVNdmqBgRMFYTjjxJUKc_XzKZgZYfoZ9mBenGB-1R4_Xd39uW-TBbgVS6CdLoJT8SfBoYbJhwQXEoiYE6n4j9_-mejGEVhVml3yQ9Lel0qXnk/s1600-h/B000J3FC5Q.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQGeG9tbjcrpmUH8KzfZ42io8-vFPrB4qVNdmqBgRMFYTjjxJUKc_XzKZgZYfoZ9mBenGB-1R4_Xd39uW-TBbgVS6CdLoJT8SfBoYbJhwQXEoiYE6n4j9_-mejGEVhVml3yQ9Lel0qXnk/s320/B000J3FC5Q.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5133539248166964370" border="0" /></a><br /><span class="numero">01</span> <span class="noaudio">Intro</span><br /><span class="numero">02</span> <span class="noaudio">Days To Come</span><br /><span class="numero">03</span> <span class="noaudio">Between The Lines (feat.
